Allard's White Whale: Year Three of Pursuing Kevn Mench

Will the Affeldt-Mench deal ever come to fruition? Will Allard ever get his man? Why the fascination? I guess its a relatively cheap 20 homers or so, but even thats both not quite true and even less sure looking at Mench's road splits.

Last season Mench hit .254/.317/.452 away from CorpPark in Arlington. Plus, he'll be 27 next season... so he's a little overripe as a prospect. Perhaps theres the possibility of a nice mini-peak... maybe.

Why is Allard so single minded sometimes? I'm not sold on quitting on Affeldt, but its not like Mench is the only outfielder in baseball, and the Rangers already overvalue him as it is.
