Entire coaching staff to stay the same

Update [2006-10-18 14:20:12 by royalsreview]: Thanks to "Berroa is the devil" in the diaries for the heads up on today's big news. Well, today's news of no news...

From Baseball Digest Daily:

In somewhat surprising news...

Kansas   City   Royals   Senior   Vice President-Baseball Operations/General  Manager  Dayton Moore  announced  today  that  the  entire  Major  League coaching staff will have their contracts renewed for the 2007 season.

Manager  Buddy  Bell,  who  is  under  contract  through  next season,  also  announced that third base coach Luis Silverio and first base coach Brian Poldberg will switch positions next season, allowing Silverio to spend more time with the outfielders.

"I feel comfortable with Brian or Luis coaching third," Bell said. "But this will give Luis a little more freedom to work with the outfielders. This staff did an incredible job of working with our players," Bell said. "Considering what we went through in our first couple of months, they worked hard to help these players continue to develop and take their games to the next level. This is a good situation for the organization and the players."

The rest of Bell's staff includes bench coach Billy Doran, hitting coach Mike Barnett, pitching coach Bob McClure and bullpen coach Fred Kendall.
