Dusty Hughes - AFL Pitcher of the Year

Another Royals farm hand with rising prospect status is Dusty Hughes.  What would the Royals do with a left hander who throws first pitch strikes and can get lefties out?  Not the hardest thrower but gets results - wow, what a concept!  Kyle Davies and The Rose should pay attention to this one.  There is hope for Rowdy Hardy, too.

The 2008 Omaha rotation could be Hochevar, Buckner, Lumsden, Rosa and Hughes.  Davies or C. Lewis could be part of this picture depending on the major league staff.  If they make the big league rotation, it will be on merit, not hope.  Is it possible that the Royals are developing pitching depth in the upper ranks of farm system?  Two years ago, Buckner and Hochevar would have been thrown to the wolves in the MLB.
