Well, now Dick Kaegel is shooting down the idea of signing Geoff Jenkins, because he is a LH hitter. Also complained about his declining productivity and his age (of course, he would have LED our fricking team in HRs last year)
While I agree that the Royals would PREFER a RH power hitter, are they really in any position to be this picky, considering just how PATHETIC our power production was last year?
Just felt like ranting, because everytime anybody proposes doing anything at all to improve our offense, it gets shot down quicker than you can say "Red Baron".
Let me throw out another suggestion, if we must have a RH bat.
Sammy Sosa. Yes, he's 38, but he was OK last season. I would never give him the 7 million he wants, but something around 2-3 million with some incentives, and make it a one year deal with a club option. That would be low risk, high reward, right?
