With the unveiling of the new home powder-blues, I found the players/personnel present very interesting.

Moore
Hillman

Guillen
Teahen
DeJesus
Buck
Gordon

Frank White
Mayberry

There was a time, not to long ago, when WHO was present at an organizational function with press coverage was important. When men didn't wear hats indoors and children were seen but not always heard.

Perhaps in this day it just is not as telling of a sign...but....

If we are going to let DeJesus or Teahen go soon, should they be on that stage putting jerseys on our new players and our past Royal greats?

And when Hillman had his official KC introduction, the only players there were DeJesus and Teahen.

But, nowadays, I think that is more about which players are in KC in the offseason, rather than who is in the team's long-term plans. DeJesus and Teahen can and should continue to some of the faces of the organization up until one or both gets traded. The fact that these guys are good poster boys for the organization should not and probably will not keep them from getting included in a deal which Moore thinks improves the team.

I guess Brett and Sweeney were out of town

Wasn't Sweeney voted "face of the franchise" or something? And has anyone spotted Brett with our new manager?

My God, the media is transforming me into a paparazzi supporter. I must stop reading blurbs on Spears et alia.

Brett and Sweeney

I don't believe Brett lives in KC. His business interests with his brothers is in California. I doubt he spends much if any time in KC in the winter. And there is no way they are going to trot Sweeney out to be the Royals poster boy (particularly wearing a Royals jersey) when he is no longer with the team. He's a free agent and the Royals don't show any signs of re-signing him.

I don't know if he's there all the time

but I do know that his permanent residence is in Johnson County. Does Leawood sound right? Anyway, that's where his kids go to school (or went to school. I'm not sure if he still has kids in school.)
