Predictions-2008 Team Leaders

Hey all,

As I was looking at the Royals main website, I noticed the 2007 team stat leaders. It had the leaders in all basic categories from the past season. What I want to do for fun, is just have people guess as to who will be leading those categories and with what number.

So for this year we have:

AVG: M. Grudzielanek, .302
HR: J. Buck, 18
RBI: E. Brown, 62

W: B. Bannister, 12
SV: J. Soria, 17
K: G. Meche, 156

For 2008 I predict:

AVG: B. Butler .322
HR: A. Gordon 31
RBI: A. Gordon 112

W: G. Meche 16
SV: J. Soria 37
K: Z Greinke 187

Lets see yours.

I'm going to wait
...until it is more certain what the 2008 roster is going to be.  Guys like Fukudome, Kuroda, Silva and/or others could be with the team this year.  I don't feel comfortable making any predictions about the 2008 team until the composition of that team is pretty well determined.
I probably disagree with you.

I agree
I'd be willing to bet money now that Guillen will lead the team in HR's - somewhere between 25-30 long balls.
"I'm tired of all these stupid a$$ questions every day. Why the f**k would I hit Brett for Miller?" The rest is history.

what a wuss
i hate it when people take the easy way out and just criticize other guys' predictions without making any of their own.  if you're gonna slam his gordo31 prediction, at least have the decency to put your neck out there and predict something other than Gordon NOT hitting 31.

Just like you put your neck out there
By doing the exact same thing and not making any predictions at all.  Isn't hypocrisy awesome?

Hmm
Butler .313
Gordon 24 big boys,  still developing
Guillen/Gordon tie  93 rbi

Meche  14  Better than last year but still a lot of hard luck
Soria  38 saves, should be starting but who else will close right now?
Meche  153 k's - down from 156 the 2 previous seasons, talk about consistency.  Talking about consistency Greinke doesn't yet - love him to prove me wrong.

So, no surprises.  Digging up supporting info re my (maybe silly but I stand by it) assertion that I would trade DDJ straight up for Endison Volquez I found this site.  It's Cal league '04 and '05 with some really, really good scouting reports. I thought some people here might find it interesting, because we all know which organization the High Desert Mavericks play for.  Reading the scouting report on Lubanski, you wonder why he got picked in the first round.

http://www.calleaguers.com/teams2005.html

FYI NYRoyal, there's 2 scouting reports on a . .  .    .  .  ."Dominican righty with tremendous stuff and unbelievable makeup. Best pure stuff in league." .  .  .  and  . . ."Is undersized for a top of rotation guy but stuff, heart and feel are all there to be a number one starter in the not too distant future". .  .

Iceland is the one
that is green though, right? Greenland is the one that is all ice?

by MileHighKCfan on Dec 10, 2007 12:55 PM EST up reply actions

Pretty Much
The names were proto real estate scams by the Vikings. Iceland is also very seismicly active; the population is virulently racist, and they could read the sagas in the original form without difficulty. Microsoft does not make an Icelandic language Windows because there are so few people who speak it, and they all know English.
