STANDRIDGE MADE THE TEAM?!@?!

This is news to me! I thought this joker was sent packing to AAA. What the hell. And its no surprise that he got rocked either. I really thought he was not on the team because of Braun, and this just really makes me mad. Hopefully Moore's justification was along the lines of Dwight and his cholesterol.

"I can raise and lower the cholesterol levels in my body"

"So I can lower it"

I hope Moore is using the logic that he can have standridge up just to send him down.

Oh well. We lose 9-1 with our worst pitcher on the mound. And with standridge, probably our second worst. Nice showings from Braun, Gobble, and Welle, but especially Braun. Hopefully Greinke can be our stopper tomorrow night. And hopefully we can trade Sanders to Baltimore and get an RP and send standridge back to Omaha for some more innings there.

Dotel to 60 Day?

I keep hearing rumors that Dotel will be sent to the 60-day DL? If so, that could be a tremendous blow to our bullpen, and hence, our season. I picked a healthy Dotel to be the "key" to our success this year (not that I believe in "keys" per se to begin with). I could seriously not stand an entire spring/early summer of Riske as our closer. We need more depth. I can't wait until Bale gets back as well.

I believe Standridge came up

When Dotel went on the DL. He was not originally in plan for the opening day, roster, I don't think.

Certainly stranger things've happened,

so maybe Standridge finds a niche in relief. I doubt it, but if Todd Frickin' Williams can have a couple years in the majors...

Last Year

if anyone were to say Joe Nelson would be our closer by the end of the year. We would have said...Who? Sometimes guys come out of nowhere and play well; however, if he pitches like last night his MLB time will be short lived.

Never know

when you'll need some extra arms just in case you get a series or two cancelled by a freakin' snow storm in April and end up having to play 3 double headers in a row. Sounds like a job for Standridge
