While perusing the blogosphere via the Deadspin portal on my Yahoo homepage, I came across this:
"Royals - I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Royals sign AJ. He hasn't played well enough to get the contract that I think he could have got with an average season. He still has time to turn it on but I just don't see it as likely. I could potentially see him resigning with the Braves if Liberty upped the payroll a little but of course that is unlikely as my guess here. Moore dabbled into FA last year with Meche. DeJesus could move to LF. I'm really stretching here but I don't know where he might end up."
The "AJ" he's referring to is Andruw Jones. This is a player Moore knows well. Jones is mired in his worst slump ever, floundering at the Mendoza line. He's making $13.5 mil this year; could his price come down far enough for Moore to consider bringing him to KC?
If so, do we want him? He's only 30, but he's a 10 year starter. What is wrong with him this year? Will he ever hit 40+ HR's again? There are many questions to be answered before committing to Jones, but DDJ in left, Teahen in right and Jones in center would be a real major league outfield.
Should Moore even consider this move?
