Sweep Implications

A win this afternoon would give us our 1st sweep of the year, our 1st 4 game win streak of the year, and give us our 1st winning month since 2003. Although fans of other teams would probably laugh at my excitement for these 3 things to happen, I know all of you are as excited about the possibilities as I am (especially doing them all against a 1st place team in the Angels). All you good Royals fans united and let's cheer on our Boy's in Blue this afternoon. I know my work productivity will be down starting at 2:30!

I have a feeling that De La Rosa will be good enough to keep us in it (much like Gil last night).

Means a terrible lineup from Buddy today. Look for Costa hitting cleanup, LaRue catching, Gordon playing centerfield, Emil playing shortstop.....

LaRue Is The Answer

At 1st. Teahan can learn to catch, once Buck learns 3rd. Then Gordon can move to 2nd. Don't say Bell has no plan.

Being a fan is irrational, but what is the alternative?

Haven't heard that Larue will always catch Thomson yet. Maybe this "plan" for the catchers will quietly fade away, especially if we replace Odie and JDLR in the rotation.

People were kinda panicking about Buck's "slump" this week. Ends up, he has now hit 2 HRs on the road trip, and by my count, I can recall three additional balls he hit that were caught on the warning track. Even Bell kinda panicked, trying Buck in the 4 hole one game, getting no results, and quickly abandoning that plan. I'll take his results on this road trip every time!

Shealy, Costa, and LaRue

in the same lineup. That's our version of "Murderer's Row". The Angels would be scarred to even step out onto the field.

The best part about that line-up...

...is that "Shealy 1B" at the 4 spot at the four spot is probably the thing I'd least like to see. Buck strikes me as the kind of stud that could handle third in a pinch.

Cortez

I'm waiting for the day that BB tries to use Super Utility Man Cortez at all 9 positions. Maybe next year's interleague he will pull a double switch every inning to accomplish this!
