Buddy F'n Bell...

ok...well still got a busted laptop...figuring I prolly just gonna buy a new one...but beings I just payed cash for a '99 Chevy (sweet deal) a laptop not in sight soon...still been checking in and reading a lot, just not enough time to post...so I got a rant on Buddy Bell...

  1.  Ok so today on 810 Buddy said something like, "we're still trying to figure out how aggressive we should be," talking about late game baserunning/other decisions...ok Buddy...keep bringing the infield in in the first inning and then ask yourself how aggressive you should be in the ninth...you dumbass...keep stumbling through your interviews dinghead
  2.  also on John Buck's struggles he said something to the fact of tweaking your swing all the time and "hitting is the hardest thing in sports" and blah blah blah...I'll reserve myself a la Hank Aaron and comment later
  3.  next time you listen to a Buddy interview just count the seconds of silence/ummmms/ughhhhs and tell me its not more time than the completely ignorant B.S. that comes outta his mouth...ty Buddy for just getting outta the way...wish it could be sooner
P.S.  WTF is up with Lime's intro song?

BTW...
Matt Stairs batting leadoff last night was the crowning moment of my online blogging career

He's resigning, what more do you want?
And the worst part of Bell leaving is that Whitey Herzog, best remembered by this Royals fan for his tantrum in the 1985 World Series, remains the Royals winningest manager for five more years!

is one hell of a guy/manager...no worries there...ahhh...the White Rat

For any Royals fan younger than 40
Herzog is seen as the manager who made a fool of himself in the World Series.

Too bad the Tigers showed class in losing the Series last year.  The Cardinal fans deserved the poor sportsmanship they showed in 1985.

Well
I'm younger than 40 and Whitey is still manager number 2 in my Royals pantheon.

I'm Over 50 And
I vaguely remember Whitey as a marginal journeyman outfielder who had played for the A's in KC, as well as the manager of some great Royals teams.

Being a fan is irrational, but what is the alternative?

ALSO...
my wife volunteers for the Retired Racing Greyhound organization...the dogs all have their own personality and most are very sweet...you can foster a dog for free and they pay for food and his/her kennel (of course you gotta meet requirements...pretty easy)...anyhow...we are fostering one right now and I think we will keep him...so nice and sweet...obeys VERY well (couldn't believe how well they behave)...stay in kennel when u r gone (cuz they are kennel raised and happy with this)...most good with kids and half or so good with cats/small dogs (we have 5 cats and ours is great with them)...I don't like that people overbreed dogs for money that have medical problems and I feel that the retired racing greyhounds is a good program because they find homes for these highly personal dogs that are very friendly...if interested check out gpamokan.org...if not check it out for fun anyhow

good for you about the adoption
We got our dog from the Humane Society 10 years ago.  Flat out best dog in the world.  Whenever I hear of someone interested in getting a dog the first thing I say is to go to the adoption agencies and never a breeder.

I Had A Pound Puppy
For over 15 years; he was as good as he knew how to be, and one tough little monkey.

We are pound people...
Three dogs and four cats are buried in the back yard all came from the pound.  Our last cat is now 14 and was born in our mudroom from a mother cat, who our neighbors didn't care about.  This might be our last pet...  or not....

I am the last person
on this site that would defend Fuddo.  I have accepted that the bumbling fool will be with us until the end.  So, I have stopped complaining and am now praying for it all to just be over.  Fuddo moves to Cincy... and we (Royals) move on to much bigger and better things.

That said... I don't have to like his shit eating grin on the Royals website.   I for one, Fuddo, can't wait till your sorry ass is out of here.

I meant that only in the nicest way.

I'm sorry
It may be wrong of me to say this about the "Lame Duck", but amen brother. See ya later, Buddy and good ridance. You've done enough damage.

The next person may be worse
Many of you wanted Muser gone, then we were stuck with three years of Pena.

We can only hope GMDM
has as good an eye for managers as pitching talent. I think we can do worse than the improvement we've seen while Bell has been here. He was always just a stop gap while we rebuild this franchise. And I don't remember him destroying any of our young talent (besides maybe not playing Buck enough this year).

If GMDM brings in a
good young manager that knows how to handle pitching and teams that with a hitting coach that actually has a clue and can teach that clue to our young hitters.  Then I would say he has done his job.
