Lost in the shuffle

A lot happened yesterday, no doubt.

First, the bridge tragedy that certainly made last night's game less significant than most average summer Royals' games.

Second, the Buddy Bell announcement certainly was an issue that creates a lot of speculation. (Was he forced out? Was he just tired of managing these Royals? Who will we get to manage next year? Will they get the team to continue improving? .... oh, and I think the answers to the first two were "no")

Third, the Royals game was exciting and interesting. Between the run scored by Emil Brown in the 8th to tie the game up to Alex Gordon's monster home run to win the game in the 10th to Bannister's strong day on the mound to Greinke and Soria's developments, it was a great game to be a Royals fan.

However, lost in the shuffle was the simple fact that because the White Sox lost, the Royals are now tied with the White Sox at 48-59 (also the Rangers).

Since the Royals game was postponed, does that mean we should ahem root for the Yankees against the White Sox tonight? Then we would be in fourth place for at least one day (though at this rate, it should be more).

Never root for the Yankees. They are still the Yankees.

Could care less
about the Yankees.  I hope they don't make the playoffs but I would like it more if we were not last in the division again.

We'll finish in fourth
We might fall out after the Yankees series, but I have complete confidince the Royals will be there.  The White Sox are playing like the Royals used to (6/7 innings of good ball, bullpen implodes, game over).  The Royals are looking like a very promising young team, we can take them.  Have to agree with TX Royal, I hope the Yankees don't make the playoffs that would be beautiful.  I guess my bias toward hating the White Sox and Yanks is obvious, right?

Bet the season W/L under against both, so
I'm rooting for a rainout that never gets made up  ;  )

Actually, I have more room for error with CWS wins than Yankee wins, so I'm suspending our quest for 4th temporarily, due to the greedy capitalist pursuit of cold hard cash...

Boston can take care of themselves
I don't have a lot of sympathy for the Bosox, either, as they are only a baby step down in "Big-market-ness" and EC Media attention to the Yankees. I'll root against Chicago every game for the rest of the season (my life?).

I'll be hoping that Cleveland and Detroit fight it out for the Central/Wildcard crown. Unfortunately, we could have a hand in making that difficult for both. Mostly, I hope we bury Chicago and set our sights on catching the Twins.

No, no, no.... never the Yankees...
I would rather eat fresh dog poop than root for the Yanks.  Take that Georgy.....

But, if they did happen to pummel the White Sox say 20-5.  I would not be broken hearted about it.

Go Blue.....

Yes, sir
No love for the Yankees. No love for the Sox. I hope they kill each other.

Ideally
they would pummel the White Sox 20-5, but at the same time wear themselves out so much that they are worn out for the series with us?

You gave me a new wish.
I now hope they play a 28 inning game that ends around 6 in the morning and they are so dog tired we blast in the first two games.

I'm kind of rooting for the Sox today
Just because I would like the Sox to slow the Yankees roll a bit.  Those awful Sox have gotten the Yankees rolling again and I really don't want to be steamrolled in the Bronx, particularly because I will be in attendance.
