Last Song You Jammed To?

Hey, its Saturday night, the Royals played horrible, no real football yet, etc... I'll start.

Morrissey- Irish Blood, English Heart

I've been dreaming of a time when
the English are sick to death
of Labour, and Tories
and spit upon the name Oliver Cromwell
and denounce this royal line that still salute him
and will salute him
FOREVER...

I love my Bosstones, but dude was wrong to attack this song last year on his radio show...

on my way home from
work, I jammed to Lynard Skynard. "Every mother's son" It's a bad jam. I love Skynard.

sing it ..lynard... You have good taste
in music... just found my Lynard Skynard tapes in the depths of the cabinet too.  I thought blasting at 10:30 at night might disturb the nieghbors.  tommorrow....

I've seen them live
a few times and anytime they're within 100 miles, I'll go again. You basically have to like Skynard. A little blues, a little country and a whole lot of rock and roll.

Skynyrd Died In
A plane crash. I had tickets to see them in Little Rock; they never got there. Anything you're seeing now is a pale imitation. I saw them next to the top of the bill when Clapton played Memphis State Stadium in '74. It was a hot motherfucker in every way; the temperature was 100+, Straubs, Mary McQuarry (who later married Leon Russell), Foghat, Skynyrd, and finally, after dark, Clapton. When Skynyrd was done, the crowd was totally wrung out. Black Oak Arkansas did the same thing to Mountain in Topeka in '71.
Being a fan is irrational, but what is the alternative?

Life is a Highway
and I'll jam to it all night long.

(the Rascal Flatts version, from Cars. I love picturing the American landscape roll by when I hear the song.)

White Stripes
new album Icky Thump.  It was made for banging your head and playing air guitar.  Sorry too many favorites to pick one.

Much Better
more guitar, but still has a few experiments notably bagpipes on one song.  Probably their heaviest sounding album, but still catchy and accessible.

It is just...
ridiculously good. My god this album rocks.

I do love me some
Pantera. My wife hates it because I'll go from Garth Brooks to Pantera to Alan Jackson and back to Van Halen or something. I like to think of my style as ass-kicking redneck.

well played
is pantera still active?

by royalsreview on Aug 26, 2007 3:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Pantera
became Damage Plan because of the singer I think and then Dimebag got killed on stage by that nutso guy. I think a couple of the guys, the drummer and bassist?? formed HELLYEAH.

by wildthang on Aug 26, 2007 5:37 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Hellyeah's a joke but
Damageplan was OK...got a pick from the show shortly before Dime's murder...but Pantera...was desert island material...I'm a bit selective on my metal...prefer Testament, Sepultura, Slayer, Old Metallica & Megadeth, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendancies, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Judas Priest/Fight, Iron Maiden, Black Sabath, Ozzie w/Randy Roads, Machine Head (new album kicks ass), Danzig, liked some eighties stuff...Tesla, Skid Row, Candlebox, Toadies,..Big time into RUSH, Zeppelin, grew up on the 60-70's stuff..even enjoy Primus. Just to name a few favorites..
