Powder Blue Alternate Uniforms for '08

This comes from this forum: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2631077

Flanagan reported this as well in the Star. Says the tops could also be worn on the road with gray pants.

Personally, I like it! It was only a matter of time before they had to try and do this. Their marketing campaigns have been based around the appeal of powder blue for a while. Powder blue is always better than black. I do sort of wish they would have sprung for the blue pants like the Blue Jays, though.

In other news, the Devil Rays are changing their name and color scheme. I'm still going to call them the Devil Rays, though. They can't stop me.

I'll be the first to say
I don't like em. Either go back to the authentic 70s version, or don't do it.

If they are going to do it, they need to sign Dane Iorg, Pat Sheridan and Joe Beckwith.

Who is Player? What position does he play???

I never liked the powder blues
They were never a good idea and never looked particularly good.  Thankfully, as an alternate, they will be worn infrequently.
I probably disagree with you.

I agree with Retro
Just the powder blue tops, with either white pants or grey pants, is going to look stupid.

All powder blue, or don't bother!

I agree... if you are going to go powder blue
it is all or nothing. Hochy should look pretty good in that color.

it's sorta like going to an all-you-can-eat buffet
and then ordering a diet coke.

C'mon, who are you kidding?

I just realized why else it doesn't look right
The "Royals" script should be white, not blue. I think that would help alot. There's still time to change it.

I do not like the powder blue unis.
In high school we were the Comets and my freshmen year we had powder blue tops and bottoms for all sports.  The school only used the uniforms one year for the male sports and then switched to navy blue and black.  It was much more manly looking.  Also the school kept the powder blue for the girls, the only rightful gender for that particular color.

They are much better then the Toronto
second home alternate.  They are just horrific.

NO POWDER BLUE
I like their traveling uniforms that they were now. They look more professional. Powder blue, no way.

I remember loving the grays
When they were introduced, but there's a part of me that waxes nostalgic when I see the powder blue (even this new, top-only, wrong-color script powder blue).  It's a connection to a more glorious past (I think Moore is huge on recapturing some of that feel of tradition), and, while I would have never had thought it as a younger man, I'm looking forward to seeing (at least some) powder blue.

Could be a worse blow to the team's machismo:
They could start calling the color "Robin's Egg Blue" instead.

Try On
Baby Blue for size.
Being a fan is irrational, but what is the alternative?
