SIGH (aka Loyal2 rant of the week)

Okay, so...when your favorite player is traded from your baseball team, you feel angry and upset, right? Right. But I think that as Royals fans, we've learned to deal with the "backstabbing" of modern baseball and realize that yes, sometimes your star player will be traded. In our case, this has happened multiple times. And I understand wanting to rant for the sake of ranting, but don't rant to a Royals fan because they will only rationalize the situation for you.

Today, one of my Cards fan friends IMed me, complaining about Scott Rolen being traded to the Blue Jays. I quickly came to the defense of the Cardinals office (I know, RIGHT? So weird to say that) through rationalizing the trade, which she was quick to throw away. Because she wants to be angry about it.

It's fine to be angry about things, yes, but sometimes the change that is made through trades is a good thing. I would be PISSED if Grienke got traded, but if it meant that the Royals had an overall better roster as a result, I would accept it. I would be upset that my baby was gone (and that I would have to find a new Royals man to support with all my heart and soul), I would get over it relatively quickly. Unless he went to the Yankees, Cardinals, or White Sox. Then there would be hell to pay.
