Last night in the bottom of the 9th Chip Caray, one of my least favorite human beings ever, said two teeth-grinding things:

1) "It has struck midnight for Tampa's Cinderella". Yes, because this was a one game playoff and the Rays are now eliminated.

2) "Tonight, experience has trumped exuberance." The Red Sox scored their first run thanks to the oh so experienced Jed Lowrie, and escaped the eighth thanks to some dude named Masterton. I think both those guys go back to the Nomar Era.

This year was as unlkucy as last year was lucky

I still tihnk he could OPS .790-.800 against RHP with a .350 OBP. Not great, but the Royals could use it.

Once defense is figured in, he was as “good” or better than JoGui this year, and that’s not counting his bad luck

The irrational part of me thinks DMGM wants to have an excuse to trade Greinke because Zack’s not one of his boys. He might be stuck with Gordon and Hochevar, but if he can get rid of Zack AND Butler during the same offseason, he can get rid of that horrible stench of failure from the Baird years.

That’s just my nasty side, though.

So I was looking up David Price since they kept saying how fast he came up and someone had edited this in alrady:

“Price made his major league debut with the Tampa Bay Rays on September 14, 2008, against the New York Yankees.
