Ticket Prices Up in 2009
Is it fair to raise ticket prices for us fans?
Glass has made a big profit the last couple seasons. Maybe he should eat a $1 per seat for most of the seats to keep the prices low. I know that tickets are already low compared to the rest of the league, but so is our talent level.

60 %
of the tickets that were increased were increased less than $1.00.

With the inflation on all of the things that go into the Royals overhead...
…they have to increase ticket prices to essentially keep them at the same level, in real terms. Consider it a cost of living adjustment.
This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

Is the cost of reading and posting here going up, too?
I’m not sure I can add another 15 % on top of the $0.00 I already spend.

just quit pocketing the $15 million you don't reinvest into the organization into tickets to
keep prices down for us while making profits…..

Agreed
This is most definitely not a good P.R. move. Was it inevitable? Perhaps. Considering Glass’ ineptitude and unprofessionalism over the years, Royals fans should be skeptical.

With all due respect,
you should be 10 times as outraged at the lack of commitment payroll wise as compared to ticket inflation.
If Glass said he was going to increase the payroll by 50% for the next 5 seasons, adjusted for baseball inflation, but in turn tickets would have to increase 50-75%, would you approve or disapprove?
Mr Glass, this is a pro sports team, not a retail store - run it like one!

Now, I'll turn around and defend Glass and the Royals
I think some of what the Royals are doing with their ticket prices is to create more tiers; i.e, layers of service available. This is an approach that most other big league teams began a decade or so ago, so naturally the Royals are finally starting to implement it here. In their defense, the stadium renovations probably delayed this planned implementation two or three years.
If you don’t believe me, as an example check out the Cardinals ticket price structure. Tons of options, at a WIDE variety of price and service levels, almost to the point where it is confusing to the consumer. The good part of that, is once you familiarlize yourself with the options, you have a much better chance of getting what you perceive as fair value for the dollars you are willing to spend.

I think you are absolutely right
Tickets for the priciest sections seem to be going up way more than tickets for the average joe.
