that's good
because it seemed last year like Jose was always behind 0-2. Avlies too, but to a lesser extent. My guess is Jose had a ton of ABs in that “situation.”

Would have been better to include their sOPS+s,
so we get a feel for how they compared to the rest of the league. sOPS+ judges the players stats against the rest of the league for that particular split.
sOPS+s for these guys in 2008, down 0-2
Guillen 251
Aviles 227
Gordon 200
MITCH 192
DDJ 161
So: overall, as expected, the whole league sucks at 0-2. But these guys, relatively speaking, kicked ass realtive to the rest of the league, with Guillen, Aviles, and Gordon being twice as good or better than everyone else at 0-2, and MITCH coming close.
I think you used “0-2 count,” though, rather than “After 0-2.” Not sure what the exact difference is

Contextually,
I read that as only the results that were made on an 0-2 count are included. After 0-2 could include 1-2, 2-2, and 3-2 as well.
What does everyone else think?
Waiting for a 90+ win season

our clutchiness is amazing
and we got rid of our batting coach?

Avilanche
.276/.276 way to work that count back in your favor and draw the walk. Mitch too, I suppose. No disrespect, but even Jogui worked the ol’ 0-2 for a walk a handful of times

Note to everyone
sOPS+ measured the split against the rest of league in the same percetage. Thus, a 100 sOPS+ at 0-2 means that the player in question has a league-average OPS in that situation.
Now look back at my earlier post and do the math.

What makes this statistic depressing is...
…that all five of them should also then be able to take the Ball 4 when needed. But only Gordon consistently did that—-and still not at a rate that reflects his ability. If you have a lot of great 2-strike hitters, then you should also have a lot of folks hovering in the .380-.400 range for OBP. So was this our eminently forgettable 2008 hitting coach’s fault? Perhaps. Our boys need to be coaxed into a few more very-attainable walks.
Assumption: High OBP = High Scoring Offense. – TL
[In 2008] Kila Ka’aihue had the best on-base percentage of any hitter in the minor leagues. - Joe Posnanski, 11/9/2008 ... Ergo, let's give him a shot at first base in KC in 2009.

Other "chokers" on 0-2
as per RR’s use above, I’ll use “0-2” from b-r rather than “0-2” from b-r
A-Rod .135/.154/.270/.424 (108 sOPS+ — above league average, but still way worse than anyone on the Royals list)
Derek Jeter .125/.125/.125/.250 (28 sOPS+ — OMG Jeter is so overrated NY fans are so stoopid~!)
Joe Mauer .250/.238/.375/.613 (203 sOPS+ only slightly better than Alex)
Nick Punto .225/.225/.250/.475 (141 sOPS+ not as good as any of the ROyals, but OMG Little Nicky must be better than Jeter AND A-Rod. 6/150 NOW)
My favorite:
Mike Jacobs .089/.089/.111/.200, keep in mind the splits or by league, so Jacobs sOPS+ is going to be split against the NL rather than the AL for everyone else, but his sOPS+ on 0-2 this past season was …. 1. That’s right, ONE.
The lesson: pretty much all players suck on 0-2. Jose Guillen was actually pretty damn good. Most importantly, this doesn’t mean much.
Hell, Albert Pujols, far and away not only the best hitter, but the best player in baseball this year, this season on 0-2 hit .208 .240 .375 .615. for 204 sOPS+. Wow, Guillen is better than Pujols, I guess. Great signing, DMGM. I apologize.
