The Kansas City Royals today named Mike Arbuckle the Senior Advisor to the General Manager/Scouting and Player Development. Arbuckle joins the Royals after spending 16 successful seasons in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, culminating with a World Series Championship last month.
"We are extremely delighted that Mike has decided to join our organization," said Dayton Moore , Royals’ Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager. "He has a great eye for talent and a proven track record in building a championship-caliber club. His experience in the game will be a tremendous asset to all aspects of Baseball Operations as we continue to work toward building a championship club."

This is obviously
a sinister move by DM and David Glass to skimp on major-league payroll by blowing $$$ on worthless front-office executives that do nothing to add value to a major league organization.
Sincerely,
Rob Neyer, Jayson Stark, and 2002
I hereby resign from this post.

If Arbuckle went to any other organization
Neyer would already have a blog post up saying how smart that team was.
Rowdy Hardy Fan Club member.
Even better news
is that Arbuckle is a local guy. He grew up in Trenton, MO (north central part) about 2 hours away from KC.
I actually know his son-in-law, having worked with him at a community college in Trenton. This is a great thing for the organization as well as his family. Very exciting stuff!

Best Move of the Off-Season
(provided that he has SIGNICANT influence over the organization come draft day)
Good move
Maximizing the scouting talent. This is the kind of low-cost, high-return move teams like the Royals need to make.
This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.
The A's Went
From Philly to KC, and that worked well.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.
In a ridiculously old reference
I’m going to nickname Mr. Arbuckle “Fatty”
This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.
I was wondering if he was related to John
