Kaegel Strikes Again!

Star-divide

Our favorite recurring comedy act was in rare form today. At the end of an answer to a question about why the Jacobs trade was widely panned, our lovable but clueless patsy for the Royals said the following:

"By the way, despite Jose Guillen's, umm, rambunctious season, his 20 HRs and 97 RBIs were nice numbers. You didn't hear too many folks whining about his .300 OBP.

Oh, where to begin, given such a target rich environment?

I guess I'm happy just to suggest to Mr Kaegel that they sell cue-tips at most any store in this country. I would suggest Wal-Mart, because the owner is certain to plow the profits into the Royals. NOT.

Just goes to show that counting stats are meaningless

And that Kaegel is a Tool McToolface for putting any stock in them.

Great stuff

I think Kaegel should be packaged with Guillen and dealt for a compensatory draft pick of some sort.

by cookierojas73 on Nov 17, 2008 4:51 PM EST   0 recs

Wait, the Royals get rid of Kaegel and Guillen

and you expect them to receive compensation?

we can receive something for anybody.

its debateable whether banny qualifies as anything...

we may have been better off just letting them have burgos….

…cue NYRoyal telling me that Banny really isnt that bad…

TPJ...you're dead to me

You're kidding, right?

Even if Banny never pitches another inning for the Royals, he at least had that one great year, and at least he’s not in constant trouble with the law.

I Thought It

Was GWRBI Surrendered for pitchers.

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

I Am The

Colon King of the Kenai Peninsula. I was fully awake and comfortable through the entire procedure; they oohed and aahed at the wonders of my colon. I have pictures, which I will be sending to all my friends and relatives. Apparently I’m good for now.

Kaegel being Kaegel...

And he gets paid to write that stuff. go figure!!!!

you can't count heart

at least he made Billy Butler cry……….guys on the major league beat are co-opted by the club, its like the “embedded” journo’s in Iraq……why would they make waves? They are almost de facto employees. On the otherhandism, to be so out of touch is another thing altogether. If you were responsible for reporting on the Royals, wouldn’t you devour all things Royal (not to mention the random Zero Bar), including daily reviews of the veritable cornucopia of Royals blogs available? Sure, the Royals suck with a capital U, but as far as blogs go, we’ve got to be a top 5 outfit. An outlier considering our success between the lines.

and another thing.........

does a .300 OBP really merit whining? It is what it is…..its like stepping in dogshit. Its more about soul sapping recognition and shaking a fist at the Gods than it is about whining and causing a ruckus. The SUCK SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.
