MacDougal for Cortes and...

Even if it turns out to be a six-pack of Natty Light, it still seems like a good deal to me. Despite the best prospect (Cortes) turning out to not be the guy who was actually targeted (Lumsden).

that is a very good point to remember

Cortes will potentially make this trade a steal for the Royals, but at the time it was made, he was viewed as the throw-in, with Lumsden being the centerpiece of the trade.

That being said, I think Lumsden is at least worth a six-pack of Pabst.

I'd Hold Out

For a sixer if this:

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

I take some responsibility for this trade

I dropped Lumsden off of my 23 man roster a couple of weeks ago in my keeper league.

I'm mostly unsurprised.

He’ll be a nice reliever somewhere in the Houston organization. Not a whole lot more.

If that

I will be genuinely surprised if Lumsden sees regular MLB duty anytime soon.

Good bye Mr. Lumsden, you'll...

…never be missed. You’re only a footnote to the MacDougal legacy. – TL

And The HOF

MLB career of Daniel Cortes.

I could forsee an Ed Hearn-type of quote from Lumsden...

“…if the worst part of my career was that I got traded with Dan Cortes, then that’s a-okay.”
