Who won the election prediction contest?

With respect, this isn't of a great deal of importance, but what else do we have to do?  Complain about the next "Royals are interested in Player X" rumor?  Anyway, there are no clear metrics for determining the winner of this little prediction contest.  But I think there were 3 clear finalists.  The semi-final election results were:

Obama +6.3

364 Electoral votes (wins North Carolina but not Missouri)

McCain concession speech starts at 11:16 EST

and your finalists:

DarthYoshi

Obama +5 points

338 Electoral votes

11:20 pm EST

RoyalRetro

Obama +6

352 Electoral votes

10:30 EST

KCBear

Obama +7.3%

364 Electoral votes

11:36 ET

All three were pretty close on each prediction.  Of the three, Retro was closest on popular vote margin.  KCBear nailed the electoral vote.  DarthYoshi was only a few minutes off on the concession speech time.

Good question

An erroneous report came out late last night that it had been called for Obama, but it was too early. More returns came in, tipping the balance more towards McCain. I think McCain ended up winning it, but I haven’t seen anything official yet. That district is made up of two counties. Obama won the more populous one by a little. McCain won the less populous one buy a lot. So it is close.

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

Will Missouri have a recount?

I mean, technically they’re within the margin of error, but since it doesn’t matter, they won’t go through with it, right?

I think it would make sense for both Missouri and North Carolina to forget about a recount

Those things are expensive. When it affects the outcome of the election, then it is worth it. When it doesn’t, then just give it to the guy who got one more vote. Obama can take N.C. and McCain can take Missouri.

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

District 2 voted for Obama, so he got one electoral vote from Nebraska

although i’m having a hard time wrapping my feeble mind around three contestants/ three categories

All bow down to my powers of prognostication

For my next trick, I predict the Royals trade Billy Butler for Yunieski Betancourt, Mark Teahen for Wily Taveres, sign David Ecsktiein, and finish 113-59.

If you get that right too, I'm going to build an alter to you

All hail Retro. You’re out-messiahing the Obamessiah.

Very well done on the popular vote (which according to my most recent check is actually about 6.2 now, with 538 projecting that it will get up to about 6.3 based on the outstanding precincts). I was done in by my over-exuberant enthusiasm yet again. However Obama did even better on electoral vote than I predicted.

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

I'll do a little post-election campaigning

According to CNN’s tally, the popular vote spread is 7%, giving me an edge in both the electoral and popular vote. Also, Retro got inside information from Bill Ayers and DarthYoshi is actually Jeremiah Wright himself.
