Around SBN: NFL Roundtable: Which Draft Pick Is Most Likely To Bust?

Will Carroll, Christina Kahrl, Rob Neyer, and Keith Law all admitted. What a ...dubious honor

Meh, whatever. Good for all of them. Just in time, too, as Carroll and Kahrl sound more like defenders of the baseball establishment and their super-secret team management techniques with every post. Still like'em, though.

Good ol' Keith Law has one of the quotes of the year...

Commence Neyer-bashing in 3, 2...

me too

sorry if that wasn’t clear in the fanshot. I shouid re-do it.

I should also say, without irony, that I think all four more than deserve to be part of the group. If anything, they group isn’t good enough for them. Yes, that includes Neyer, even though I think he’s lost his objectivity re: the Royals (although Gammon’s shilling for the Red Sox FO didn’t stop him from getting into the Hall of Fame).

Did they change the rules regarding game attendance...

or how were they excluded last year but not this year? Maybe Bob Dutton is behind this.

I don't understand or follow that stuff

I didn’t even know there were such rules

Now that BP is “mainstream,” perhaps they will forbid their writers from being in it, like the NY Times (I think)

It's about time

some of these On-Line Whippersnappers get a little recognition.

I was waiting for that

and it was well-deserved

despite my recent comments, I actually like all these people (yes, even Neyer) for the most part. And they should be really good as far as voting goes.

Isn’t Sheehan already in? Nate Silver will never get in, probably….

I don't know about Sheehan

Does he do any sports writing other than on the internet? Because before this, the BBWAA had zero internet-only journalists.

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

Oh, and I think Silver’s work on politics is raising his profile and legitimacy, so that might help him get in.

I don't know what the rules are

but I really think Rany deserves to get in as much as Kahrl. And that isn’t a slam on Kahrl.

Frankly, given the Steroid Era™, you’d think that a dermatologist would get elected to the HoF soon.

Unfortunately the BBWAA website is also still in the 90s.

I know we’ve complained about this, but oh man that green. I think I made that same website when I was in sixth grade.

I guess they all deserve it,

though with Neyer….well I hope he’s not getting in for his recent work on the Royals (I think it’s pretty clear he isn’t).

Law definitely deserves it. Kahrl and Carroll do too, though neither one of them is showing much spine these days….
