Kelly Johnson available?
Reports say that Kelly Johnson may be available for an outfielder. With its surplus of outfielders, Is KC interested? He's an Atlanta Brave...how can Dayton possibly pass this up?

Looks like the Braves want more of a DeJesus-type talent than a Teahen-type talent
I don’t think I’d do DeJesus for Johnson.

tough
I think DDJ’s probably the better player. It depends on where Johnson would play, and then what his defense at second or LF is like. He’s below average at second, but probably better than Callaspo. Definitely a better hitter than Callaspo.
His numbers offensively actually compare well to DDJ, and due to DDJ’s 2007, I suppose, all the projections I’ve seen (Marcels, James, and CHONE) have him better than DDJ next year. Whether that would hold up against Al pitching is another matter.
He is a bit more that 2 years younger than DDJ. I’m not sure if he’s eligible for arb, and DDJ’s deal is nice for the Royals.
Don’t thikn I’d do it straight up.
OMG Banny. FWIW I am only crdtng u w/3 runs allwd bc of DDJ OMFG

It would be something to consider
Certainly DDJ for Johnson and some kind of decent prospect would be hard to turn down. The Braves would need to want a CFer, and would need to think of DeJesus as a multi-year CF option.

I'd give up JoGui
For Johnson and an arm (and eat $6 mill this year off his contract, and maybe $3 mil next season). That’d open up salary for next offseason/this offseason and get us a future arm.
Don't forget to send your broken maples to the US Forest Service.
I wouldn't do DJ for Johnson
And they wouldn’t do Teahen for Johnson. So we’re kinda stuck at an impasse unless one of the sides wants to add a minor leaguer or two.

I might try a Coco for Johnson deal and take on 1/3 or 1/2 the '09 contract
that might tempt the Braves. I’m sure that isn’t under consideration for GMDM but that would the equivalent of trading Johnson 3.5M player for RamRam which is a much better trade IMO. I can’t remember too many deals in baseball where they trade a player they just aquired.

For every link between GMDM and the Braves this is one player I would like them to get.
Of course the Braves will fleece us with the prospect that we toss in on the deal. I’m sure they will get Kel Herrera and he’ll end up being a total stud. That’s what the Braves do grab some extra player like we did with Cortes. I would have to say GMDM might have a knack for that too Cortes, Parraz, Orlando. Just grabbing some extra guy no one thinks much of who turn out to have talent.

my new boss, Kyle Boddy
in this piece on Jar-Jar Jurrjens, wonders why anyone ever trades with the Braves.
Get the Cy ready for Eric Cordier…
