Around SBN: Steve McNair Dead - Former NFL QB Shot and Killed

Stadium_2012

Kauffman Stadium sits quietly in the snow as it awaits the likes of Mike Jacobs, Coco Crisp and Mark Teahen to heat it up this summer.

The scoreboard

Do they ever plan on putting a crown top on the screen? It just looks odd without it… it bugs me.

They say it will be up by opening day

Doesn’t look like it should b too hard, so I’m sure it will. What they really need is a bigger scoreboard.

I'm surprised

they can get away with the new scoreboard where it is and as it is. I’m surprise batters aren’t squinting while looking into the pitcher! I guess it’s high enough.

I've thought the same thing...

most places have the scoreboard offset to the side or higher to keep it out of the batter’s eye… I guess it’s high enough, but far from ideal positioning, I would think.

Then again… it wouldn’t look right anywhere else except straightaway center.

The Star ran a story once about players watching themselves on it.

Apparently Joey Gathright was the worst offender. Not surprising.

I’d link to the story, but it’s lost in the archives.

And yes, the crown will be up by Opening Day. It sounds like it’s gonna look awesome. They purposely waited to put it up until all the renovations were done, so it would be the “crowning touch” on the non-new-new-K.

WTF, self?
