Guys

You will love my question. LOVE it.

what was it?

I don't even pay attention to those chats anymore

Typically the questions they allow are something like:

What’s your favorite color?
Don’t you think Jacobs is great!
Who is the next speedster your are going to acquire?

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

figures

the only question i got thru was the most vanilla i submitted.

It takes 46 muscles to frown but only 4 to flip 'em the bird.

My Question; "Is

Jose Guillen’s defense good enough to play him in RF regularly?" It is submitted.

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

I'm Surprised He

Chose to address the question and the candor with which he replied.

he takes good routes to the ball and he is committed to coming in this year in great shape and also has one of the strongest throwing arms in the league.

It takes 46 muscles to frown but only 4 to flip 'em the bird.

by kcscoliny on Dec 2, 2008 4:31 PM EST up reply actions

Well, also that he expects

Guillen to come to camp in shape this year to avoid the health problems he had last season.

What the hell, did we change personalities for the day?

I’m trying to be more even-tempered, and NYRoyal is busting out with the cynicism…

by Matt Klaassen on Dec 2, 2008 4:45 PM EST up reply actions

I'm losin' it!

There’s no reason to be optimistic about Guillen. Sure I think he’ll hit a little better next year than he did this year (I think 2008 was a bit of an outlier for him). But to expect him to be in shape and healthy? You might as well say that you expect him to be a warm, cuddly and loving clubhouse presence.

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

Actually

I have been pleasantly surprised by the questions. They have been very good, thus far. I have submitted three but have yet to read a response from them.

I'm not going to bother to register

can people just post any particularly funny q and as here? I can’t wait for the final posting.

Anyone ask about Jacobs to 3rd yet?

Or how much weed he was on when he made the offer to Guillen?

you know, I can actually see that

Guillen is a crappy player at this point, and not much fun as a teammate, but I’ve said vefore that he might be OK to hang with.

I can just see him and Dayton randomly meeting in some bar at the winter meetings last year, having a few, retire to Jose’s posh suite and busting out the bong, and Dayton saying

“Man, this is so f-ing fun… imagine us on the road together, dude! yeah… C’mon, ditch those losers in Seattle. It rainsn all the itme there. This is us, non the road.. C’mon… 3/36…”

Until you say the wrong thing. In all honest, I see him as the kind of friend/acquaintance/teammate who is affable and fun to be around, but with a hair trigger. If he hears someone saying something which he thinks is the wrong thing, he’ll lose it. In short, I think he’s very sensitive to all kinds of things and quick to fly off the handle.

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

The Latest Q

Is about Teahen trade rumors.

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

by philofthenorth on Dec 2, 2008 4:44 PM EST reply actions

He either

1) Is looking forward to spiking another rumor; or

2) Is royally pissed at being asked that

Haha, I said royally.

by buddyball on Dec 2, 2008 8:32 PM EST up reply actions

Teahen Is More

Important to the team now than he was in 2008, and he’s upset about the rumors.

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

by philofthenorth on Dec 2, 2008 4:46 PM EST up reply actions

OK, I'm starting to think that Teahen is DMGM's mistress, and Mark's upset by all the talk

I wonder if Dayton is wearing the tie Mark gave him

OMG Banny. FWIW I am only crdtng u w/3 runs allwd bc of DDJ OMFG

by Matt Klaassen on Dec 2, 2008 4:47 PM EST up reply actions

The only smart thing to do is to act like Teahen is a very good player who is very valuable to the team

That can only help his trade value and Moore’s negotiating position for a trade. And if he doesn’t get traded, Teahen can feel like he has the full support of the boss.

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

by Scott McKinney on Dec 2, 2008 4:48 PM EST up reply actions

"more important"

not to take anything real from a chat, but maybe DMGM knows the team is better off getting rid of Guillen and playing the superior player with the lower salary.

Hey, a guy can hope. (and no, saying Teahen is superior to Jose Guillen is much of a compliment for Teahen)

OMG Banny. FWIW I am only crdtng u w/3 runs allwd bc of DDJ OMFG

by Matt Klaassen on Dec 2, 2008 4:52 PM EST up reply actions

I'm sure Moore would like to trade Guillen

And will continue to try to move him. He just probably won’t be successful.

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

by Scott McKinney on Dec 2, 2008 4:55 PM EST up reply actions

Maybe He Can

Get a RH reliever for him, if we swallow the contract.

She might know where Nikiski is would be the oilfield; she lives in a pretty small world.
