The Latest Twist in the Battle for Grass Creek

Strip Club Near Safeco Field Gets Green Light

SEATTLE – City of Seattle planners say a proposed strip club can be placed three doors down from Safeco Field, despite protests by the Seattle Mariners.

A Seattle man wants to open a new Deja Vu strip club at 1530 First Ave S. It would be just 400 feet away from Safeco Field -- the same distance as home plate is from the center field wall.

Jose Guillen could not be reached for comment.

Incidentally, the motto of Deja Vu is "1000s of Beautiful Girls and 3 Ugly Ones".

MLA style for writing out numbers is dead.

The plot thickens

“It would be just 400 feet away from Safeco Field — the same distance as home plate is from the center field wall.”

Hmmm, easily attainable for opposing hitters when Carlos Silva is pitching.

My Late Wife

And I went to a Denny’s in Ontario, CA because we knew where it was (we’d met some people there after we flew in) and the traffic on I-10 was crawling; over 2 hours from Santa Monica to Ontario. Anyhow, the guy who waited on us acted like it was a black tie restaurant. I’ve been to Denny’s too many times; never have I seen service like that night. He probably would have worked topless, too.

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

I think its very considerate of them

Not all sports fans have families. I think the Mariners should embrace it and potentially even work together with the Deja Vu establishment.

They probably shouldn't embrace them

They’d get kicked out of the club.

Hmmm....

I guess I have to stop heading to the ballpark early from work. Otherwise I will end up in there, and not at the ballpark.

Waiting for a 90+ win season

First street in Seattle already has

several strip clubs. This proposed ne may be somewhat closer to the stadiums, but it’s not like it will be the first within easy walking distance.

See The Lusty Lady (http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-lusty-lady-seattle) at 1315 First Ave.

Indeed, Deja Vu already has a video store nearby: http://www.yelp.com/biz/dejavu-adult-superstore-seattle (1510 First Ave)

Cowgirls (http://www.yelp.com/biz/cowgirls-inc-seattle) 421 S. First Ave.

Taboo Adult Video (http://www.taboovideo.com/locations.htm) 1012 First Ave

Much of First Ave in Seattle essentially used to be a quasi red-light district. It retains a good bit of that flavor.

PS

My wife is currently working in Seattle for a one-year job, and she lives on First Ave, right around those establishments, which is why I know of them ;)

The neighborhood is actually quite nice; the Seattle Art Museum is also on First Ave, right across from the Lusty Lady (whose current big street sign reads: “Yule Drool” and “Ho Ho Ho”).
