I'm Not Dead
So anyway, I'm just checking this evening to apologize for the lack of the SB articles the last week and a half. In one of those little ironies that makes the victim (me) very frustrated, I came home for Feburary Break last Saturday and was almost immediately floored by a combination of work hours--I lifeguard. Yes, it's thrilling. Everyone else got recertified this week so now I'm rich--and, unfortunately, the Killer Monster Death Flu Germs from Zargox-9 who were coincidentally visiting our solar system this week.
So anyway, I'm finally getting over this flu, and I'm back at college on Monday. Hopefully this means I'll be ambulatory and writing again next week. Not that it's any change from the norm, but the diaries and stories during my absence look awesome.
Anyways! How about this guy named Huber?

Both great books, but the movies...
I loved the special effects in the IAL movie. What I didn't like about the book or movie is the whole zombie/vampire element. Why does every catastrophe-leads-to-only-a-handful-of-humans-on-the-planet story necessarily lead to zombie/vampires? I prefer the elemnt of those stories about how one survives in the post-catastrophe world and how society/civilization is rebuilt. Instead, those stories tend to focus on fighting monsters. Regardless, IAL makes its predecessor, "Omega Man," look like a cheesy piece of crap, which I guess it mostly was.
I actually haven't see
Omega Man was Charlton Heston, right? Hard to be surprised that it was a cheesy piece of crap, really.
If you liked the book, IAL is worth seeing

they really could have done so much more with it
the hardcore class divisions, furniture, etc... also interesting
there are some good things in the details, but yea, its all just the SOYLENT GREEN IS MADE OUT OF...
I read the book its based on (Make Room, or something like that) and its better
I agree

The book is almost always better
Saying this tends to discourage the people who say "don't be that 'the book was better' person." Unfortunately, I haven't got the chance to read Make Room. I'll have to look it up.
And Logan's Run!
Oh, and Jenny Aguttar.

Um...
Alas, the sexy young thing that matters to me is in another state, what with my college being in Maine and living in Mass...tragedy. Tragedy, I tell you.
(Disclaimer: I'm not talking about Scarlett, but sadly I don't think she's in Massachusetts either)
Further north,
nope...no scotch... just thought it might

Also, royaldaddy, grudz and other regulars, who haven't given their answers yet, I'd love to have you post. I'd hate to put together the RCI without your input. Not that this is something of genuine importance, but since I'm taking the fans' temperature, everyone should bend over. Ok, maybe that wasn't the best metaphore.
