Quick note
Just a quick heads up. Tonight on FSN (at 6:30 according to my directtv box), there will be a Royals Fanfest show. It's a half-hour show and may well be fairly corny. But, any Royals television programming right now is very welcomed at my house. Also, it might provide some more insight for those of you that were unable to attend (and gear you up for a roadie next year).

Assorted stuff
The good:
Kansas City Royals
KC's putting together an enviable collection of young talent. Alex Gordon, Billy Butler, Luke Hochevar, and Mike Moustakas make for a tremendous quartet. Also, young GM Dayton Moore has shown a fairly keen eye for talent thus far. This team will contend in 2010.
The bad:
RF -- Mark Teahen, Royals
Teahen isn't a horrible player, and he's only 26. However, he makes it on this unfortunate list only because right field is a fairly deep position. Teahen had a good campaign in 2006, but last season he regressed, slugging just .410 and managing only one homer every 78 at-bats. That just doesn't cut it. He's young enough to reverse course, but he may not have the bat for such an "offense-first" position.
And the ugly:
