Is this a "diary?"

I'm not real computer savy as it is, but at midnight, and with a good buzz.....this is confusing stuff....

Sorry about the rambling but, I wanted to see if I'm doing this right...

Thought it also might be fun to claim....FIRST!

Good meaningless game today by the way.....anticipation growing  for the real deal....Hopefully not going to be another bad April.

First!

Sadly, I couldn't listen to the game tonight - too busy at work.

Weirdness

I'm still trying to get a handle on this new version of the site.

I probably disagree with you.

Let me be the first to reveal...

...that I really like this new layout. It will take some getting used to, but rosters? Schedules? A live game update?

Sweet, my friend.

Sweet.

A question for Will

I know all of the new formats and functionalities are new to you too, but I read through the "how to create a fanpost" thing and it mentions using tables, but doesn't say how to create one. Do you know how to do it, or know where I can go to find out? Thanks

I probably disagree with you.

by NYRoyal on Mar 29, 2008 1:35 AM EDT reply actions

honestly, i really don't know

Tables have always been too advanced for me.

by Will McDonald on Mar 29, 2008 2:28 AM EDT up reply actions

hrm...

I just tried doing the HTML coding for a table, but it didn't show up. Boo. Maybe it's not available in comments and requires a diary fanpost.

Could be

They do mention tables in the instructions for creating fanposts, so it seems like you can do it somehow. Now I guess I have to learn how to do simple tables in HTML. Considering how big stats are to baseball fans, you'd think they'd have a simple table function. Oh well

I probably disagree with you.

I was just messing around and you can

import/copy paste a table from word. It takes a little fiddling around with to get the size right but it is pretty easy to do. The HTML didn't work for me either.

It's cool

Of course it has the same problem that all of them have, which is that they are so small it is hard to make out what it says or shows.

I probably disagree with you.

one other thing about the new site

if you post a fanpost (diary) try to use the tags, especially if it it is about a specific player... then when people click on that player on the roster plage, your diary will show up on the side

oh ok

thats preety neat. didnt even notice that

Seems like site traffic has slowed to a crawl

Is everyone scared off by the new format and having to re-register? It's two days before opening day; this place should be rocking!

I probably disagree with you.

change is scary

I'm really surprised...

...by how easy the transition has been. While some things are different, they are easy to figure out and pretty much all of the changes are improvements.

I probably disagree with you.

by NYRoyal on Mar 29, 2008 12:15 PM EDT up reply actions

hmm

I just wish the middle column were wider. It's far too narrow to be the "main" section. I think it can take a little space from the right column.

by mazoboom on Mar 29, 2008 12:14 PM EDT reply actions

OH!

Look at that. I didn't even see it. Thanks, that helps.

by mazoboom on Mar 29, 2008 12:17 PM EDT up reply actions

I've made it aboard!

The graphics are cool. Now all I need is more time to post and comment.
