if only...

bonds would make the royals an instant contender. I firmly believe this. put him in left for 110 games DH the balance, teahen in center, trade dejesus, play butler at first for 50 games. yikes. that's a top-5 offense.

bonds has been blacklisted

There's no other explanation for his not being on a roster now, especially after he expressed a willingness to play.
