small sample size...
but im surprised by the lack of love for teahen...he's got an identical OPS thus far to his stellar 2006 season...i think he's been all that we could hope for...876 ops is good for a LF
by billybeingbilly on Apr 14, 2008 5:57 PM EDT 0 recs
yeah, Teahen has done it quietly, but you have to LOVE his numbers so far
I probably disagree with you.

I went with 7
and like what I’ve seen so far, but he could use more power. However, after swinging at a 3-0 pitch with the bases loaded and weakly grounding out to second, I’d drop him to a 3 if not for that hella good catch. That sort of batting approach is infuriating.

His OPS so far is great
...but he is slugging 40 points less than he did in 06, so I'm not sure the comparisons are warranted quite yet.
FWIW, going back through Teahen's line so far this year, I think my 6 for him was harsh. I didn't give the Royals hitters high marks relative to the pitchers because of what I see as the collective failure to generate much run support, but I'll admit the 6 was a little low.

Before the weekend
it was actually up around where it was in 06, I think .515 - .520 or so, just goes to show how small the sample really is

One question.
Are these scores based on their performance in the first two weeks or the overall satisfaction with their presence on the roster?

Ross's .740 OPS isn't impressing me
He has to get to the high 700's before I'm going to feel grudgingly ok about his production.
I probably disagree with you.

mine
Gathright-6….small sample size, he will hit better
Guillen-2…......again small sample size, proven hitter underachieving
Teahen-7…....smooth transition to LF, consistent hitter
Gload-5…......i just hate the void of offense at first…good player
Grudz-8…......same grudz, different year
Pena-2….......amazed by defense, something tells me underachieving offense follows the overachieving avg last year
Gordon-9…...stud, showing signs of stardom
Butler-10…....pure hitter, i see a perennial batting champ w/ 20-30 homers consistently, power may develop further w/ his size
Callaspo-8…did not appear overwhelmed at SS, needs pt
German-8….again a consistent player w/o pt, trade?
Buck-5….......a known quantity again, power, low avg/obp
Olivo-8…......impressing me since coming off suspension
Meche-3…..we should’ve seen some drop off after last year, he WILL improve to respectability, if not last year’s form
Bannister-10…seems to show disregard for projections in favor of legitimate improvement in execution
Greinke-9…looks like last September’s Greinke, can he maintain?
Bale-3…...rough transition to rotation expected
Tomko-8….the overachieving borderline starter
Nomo-1….someone cut this guy and bring up peralta
Yabuta-7…seems to be pulling Nomo along as dead weight
Nunez-8….this guy needs more of a prominent role, either as a primary set up guy or back-end starter(he succeeded last year in the rotation when given a chance)
Ramirez-9…pitched in colorado before, shows nasty fb/sl combo
Mahay-6…he is what he is, plain and simple specialist
Gobble-7…i think better than Mahay and improving using that arm slot advantage w/ nasty fb/sl combo to match ramirez
Soria-10…if you’re compared to a young mariano rivera, you’re very very good
i just felt i wanted to comment in addition to numbers
Never giving up on your team is what makes you a good fan.
