Tim Brown wrote up a pretty good little article about Bannister and Grienke. More of the same about Bannisters brain and Grienke's arm, but for us attention starved Royals fans I'll enjoy this spotlight.

My favorite quote
"Brian’s one of the smartest guys I’ve met, especially when it comes to pitching," Greinke said. "He knows how to pitch his way, Felix Hernandez’s way, other guys’ ways. He just really knows how to pitch. When I have questions, Brian’s the guy I go to."

I love to hear that. I hope he’s going to him a lot.

I probably disagree with you.

That makes 2 of us

Greinke is still in at a very impressionable age for a MLB player – still very young.

I think it is probably good for Greinke to have a role model/mentor who is comparable in age. They are both trying to breakout, and Banny will be workin’ hard to make this happen. It probably doesn’t take much for him to extend his thinking to Greinke, since a large portion of his approach is mathematic.

This can only be good.

Finally coming back to the 'K'!!!! I'm going to be there 7/11/08, vs the SEA Mariners, of course!

Mmmmmmm

Filler…..

Well, this just goes to show how much media attention you can get with a good start, too. The Royals have had better spurts than 9-7 since 2003, haven’t they? When they happen in the middle of the season, and you suck, it’s not big news… But NOW it’s surprising!!!!

Corporate media has some serious flaws. If they had looked at the Royals all year, last year, the signs of improvement in our current start wouldn’t be so shocking for them. Or the general public. (Mostly the general public, come to think of it.)

Bannister doesn’t have Greinke’s hard, lively fastball. Greinke lacks Bannister’s innate feel for the game. But they spend a lot of time together, sometimes huddled with the veteran Meche…

Anyone remember me droning on about Smoltz-Glavine-Maddux? Ding-ding-ding.

Sarcasm™. It's the new gravy.
