But the best part of having this guy is that the Tigers added a superstar without adding a superstar ego. Leyland admitted that had Cabrera been older -- say early 30s -- more established as a star, the trade might not have worked, chemistry-wise.

Poz can get close to albom at times

i know thats unspeakable, but its true

then again, Poz also called dude out after his weird plagiarism scandal broke (but I cant find it online) the ironic thing is that, Poz came up idolizing MA. then again, the double irony is that his column chastising him, was written in pure albom fashion

found this:

Kansas City Star columnist Joe Posnanski told MarketWatch that Albom "treated people badly." Posnanski wrote: "When I was 25, I sat next to him at an event. I tried to introduce myself, tried to express how much his columns meant to me. He looked right through me. The only five words he spoke to me, as far as I can remember, were: 'Could you pass the phone?' "

Leyland is the ultimate chemistry guy

He is Mr. Leader of Men. Apparently his motivational speeches and grittiest grit are responsible for the rebuilding of the franchise. The increased talent was a minor factor.

I probably disagree with you.

chemistry is most important

in the postseason, which is why the Tigers were able to beat a much more talented Cardinals team in 2006, and why they were able to hold off the indians in 07

sure, Albom is lame

no doubt

but at least his column isnt falling into the category you talked about earlier today, which would be making too much of ST

Was Mitch actually at the game?

Or is this article based on stuff he read about the game?
