im feeling it

although i was thinking german might be the better move here as a pinch hitter b/c he’ll have to go into the game anyways so our bench options should this game go extra or something are nil

Is anyone else starting to think maybe Olivo should play more often?

by Randa4life on Apr 24, 2008 9:10 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

ive been saying for weeks now...

that buck and olivo should play simultaneously 4-5 times/week. we are so power deprived to have one of them on the bench. plus, its not like ross and his misplayed grounders and occasional infield hits are earning his PT

It was 60F with sun and no wind the last two days, but today we have smoke from Siberian forest fires and dust from Mongolian storms with wind from an approaching cold front in the Aleutians conspiring to hold the temps in the mid 40’s. I’m inside today. That’s 5:52PM in shorthand.

Well, this far south we can’t live that far west without being Pacific Islanders.

Anyway, we’re about 2 dozen miles from the Pacific here as the turkey vulture flies — that is, if they flew that far. Some would say that qualifies us as “west coasters”.

That it takes these old geezers in the announcers booth back to the “good ol’ days”, when the sacrifice bunt was king and pitchers got to throw 300 pitches a game.

George Brett’s fourth season in the majors: .333, 7 HR, .7-1 K/BB ratio. (Teahen’s never had a season worse than .5-1, by the way.)

Well, bannister could have a no hitter right now

If butler fields that ball, so I would say he’s pitching well. Offense, where are you?

guess Cliff Lee's reading level

also consider

1) he has two first names
2) he is from arkansas
3) he is a major league pitcher

I am going with fourth grade

I'm going to see the Royals in Arlington next week

What are the odds that we have a worse record than they do when that series starts? I’m betting they’re pretty good.

regarding sheehans criticism of teahen

what has he done to earn the 3-0 green light? I remember 3 or 4 instances where he swung with guys on base and nothing good has ever happened

Unless gameday is lying, Cliff Lee has thrown 69 pitches through 5 innings

Striking out 8 batters. NINE of those 69 pitches have been offspeed pitches. NINE. What the hell?

how funny would tit be if guillen just dropped that ball to spite hillman for putting him farther away from the dugout?

by billybeingbilly on Apr 24, 2008 11:42 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I think Jose's on board with Trey.

He’s been saying all the right things. Instead of just shrugging off his bad start (like he’s been known to in the past), he’s talking about being pissed off that he’s letting the team down.

Jose Guillen, pissed that he’s letting his team down. Dwell on that, if you will.

Sarcasm™. It's the new gravy.

The Switch Has

Been made; Guillen in LF is common sense. I am totally vindicated.

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

Enough to make up for all the balls Teahen is going to misplay in left.
