A live chat was held at mlb trade rumors where experts answered questions by the fans. I took all of the intresting questions related to the royals and posted them here.

They're both great pitchers but I do agree that Soria deserves more attention than he's getting. Hopefully he makes the All-Star team.

When I said I disliked it it wasnt because I thought he'd hit like this. I just didnt see them as winning in '08. In that case why spend $36 mil like that?

I like MLBtraderumors

But the guy is really only good at collecting news stories about trade rumors, and possibly a bit of analysis on what may be out there as far as guys available and such. I wouldn’t rely on him much for actual analysis of the game itself.

Yes, he is a news and rumors aggregator, and that's about it

His analysis and opinions on players are no more or less valuable than the average informed fan.

Just that a sentence of “analysis” isn’t particularly useful.

Hey, Joakim Soria is really good! Banny will post a 4.00 ERA! DeJesus gets hurt a lot! Nothing really insightful there.

Online chats

Are kinda dumb in general. They usually serve one of two functions: to allow fans to say “see this guy agrees with me” or to let fans say “OMG look how dumb this guy is, he knows nothing about our team!”

No one can do much analysis or argument in the time alloted in an online chat. They’re just throwing out a sentence here or there. I don’t see the benefit in that. Even the Rob Neyer and Bill James chats are extremely disappointing.

agree with Retro

I liked when this site was just purely rumors, but the “analysis” is getting out of hand. The guy really doesn’t know that much when it comes to these chats and such.

Zack’s K/9 is a far cry from “terrible”. Not good, but not “terrible”.
