New RR Members
I've noticed a lot of new Royals Review members lately, either that or a lot of people changed their name when we switched over to the new format. Regardlesss, it's nice to see new names and read new opinions. I'd like to know if Royals fever is catching on in any new areas. So if you're new to RR or maybe just started posting regularly, let us know where you are cheering from.
I'd actually like to see how many states we have a representative from RR in. I'll start a list with what I know of off hand, feel free to add your state or country for that matter if it is not listed:
- Missouri
- Kansas
- Iowa
- Colorado
- New York
- Alaska
- Montana
- California
- Washington
- Texas
- Massachusetts
- Washington D.C. (I think)
- Louisiana
- Virginia
- North Dokota
- Oklahoma
- Arkansas
- Oregon
- Baghdad
I'm sure there are quite a few more, particularly Arkansas, Illinois and Nebraska. I just don't recall hearing those states mentioned by anyone. Kind of a lame post I know, but it's an off day and I just wanted to try out the new "FanPost" option.

Far more than just being Gil's homeland...
....Louisiana maintains a bastion of battle-tested Royal fans like myself. Someone down in New Orleans also....but I can't think their screen name.

I'm new.
Well, new to actually commenting; found RR last August and lurked.
I'm from KC, but I've been in northern Virginia (just outside DC) for the last 12 years.

Sonoma, CA. I've been a Royals fan since 1971 when I was a kid growing up on the other side of the country listening to Royals/Yankees on the radio. Eventually I figured out how to pick up the radio broadcasts from Hartford (a Red Sox affiliate), Baltimore, and Cleveland, so I could catch most of the night games on their eastern swings. (The Detroit station was too close on the dial to a big NY wattburner to receive where we lived except under very unusual conditions.)
Although I've lived in many places since then I've been in Kansas City only once, where I saw Rich Gale's 1-hitter against the Rangers.
We've been to Oakland Coliseum to see the Royals on numerous occasions, including taking our newborn son on the day Brett hit his last ever home run on the road. Once our son began to play baseball and soccer himself our attendance has dropped off, but I've got plans to catch them there next week, where thanks to modern technology I should be able to take part in the game thread live from the ballpark.

I'm always amazed
That there are Royals fans not in the Kansas City metro area. That takes some real grit!

Fairly new
I think I started posting shortly after one of the more recent "getting to know you" diaries...
Grew up in Olathe, went to K-Sate, moved to Stanley, KS. Didn't make it far... I guess the Royals held me too tightly in their grip. My dad worked for Mr. K growing up so I've been to a ton of games every year for as long as I can remember. Pretty lucky in that I have been to both World Series. My 2.5 year old daughter has already been to 4 games. She wore one of those little pink KC Royals onesies last year. She has a hat and hopefully getting a glove for this year...

just another
kansas citian transplanted in stl
which forces me to watch cards games and root against them.... and while i was watching the last game, lohse looked pretty good. this brings me to a question:
think dayton even thought about him as his price went down even though we had already signed tomko?
then again, lohse might have been looking good b/c he was facing the nationals...

Tulsa for the time being,
but I still consider KC home.
With luck, I'll be heading up RR's London affiliate by the end of '08.
Royals, NBA, Golden Hurricane, Hawkeyes, Chiefs, and KU basketball, in that order.

Baghdad
Live in Wichita, Kansas, but have been working in Baghdad, Iraq for the past 15 months. I am old enough to remember trying to follow the Royals before ESPN and the Internet (Not that ESPN actually covers the Royals), but am very happy to have added this site to my Royals coverage list.

Oklahoma
is where I've lived for the past 10 years. Born in Ohio, grew up in Indiana, then lived in KS for a year before living in Nebraska for about 14 years.
