The obvious takeaway from this
is that someone needs to whack him in the ass with a bat once a week to keep the hip injured.
Sarcasm™. It's the new gravy.

Once again -- he is what he thought he is.
isn’t what should be expected from a guy like Guillen? Not so much that he’s a slow starter (although he is, historically - but his September numbers are even worse). But isn’t a well-worn piece of sabermetrical wisdom that guys who don’t walk that much are streakier? Just looking very quickly at his monthly splits, his ISO month-to-month doesn’t vary that much (it does spike at .194 [how should it be listed, like this, or 1.94?] in July). But it’s generally about .15.18 [or 1.5-1.8]. So when the hits are falling, he’s going to seem “hot.” When they aren’t, well, he’s like he was in April.
Crown his ass.
Hope is not a strategy. And neither is playing Tony Pena every day. (Rany Jazayerli)

We Need To
Hire Dennis Green and Hal McRae as co bench coaches or some other nebulous job description. Then we’d see some shit; crowned asses everywhere.
