A brighter future after failure dynasty?
ESPN has this article up about teams who have suffered through failure of dynastic performance. The most notable point though is their brief prognosis for the future of the team. It is always encouraging to see a national media member recognizing that this is a franchise on the rise.

Nice find
It is good to see both a recognition of how bad we’ve been and how we are improving. I agree that the Royals will have a winning season in 2009.
I probably disagree with you.

I disagree with the moving to the NL thing
For now that looks bad, but long term the NL Central is likely to be just as tough as the AL Central with large market clubs like Houston, Chicago and St. Louis in there. And I don’t think a Royals-Cards “rivalry” would have helped that much.
Best quote:
Notable quotable: “We got the best high school arm in the country, and we got probably the best athlete in the draft. If somebody would have told me before the draft we were going to get Mr. Griffin and Mr. Crosby, I would have said ‘You’re nuts.’”—GM Allard Baird
This makes me laugh and cry at the same time.
