What are the odds we go after one of those shortstops? G. Beckham from Georgia looks like he has some power based on those statistics. He’s also 21 so could be MLB ready in a couple of years. Not sure which way the FO is leaning, although, I’ve heard it’s a definite possibility we go for more pitching. I like the best available player approach, though.

Most think Gordon Beckham isn't worthy of a top 5 pick

He’s polished, fairly close to the majors and doesn’t project to being a great player. He’s a safe choice who can handle SS defensively and probably won’t be a particularly good hitter.
