Moustakas turning a corner?

So, Moustakas hit another homer tonite...making 3 in the last 4 games.  He now has 3 straight 2 hit games and has 3 homers and 2 steals in that time.  His line for the season is now 221/277/346...up immensely from a week ago.  My question is, what will we do with him?  3b?  2b?  1b?  LF?  We seem to be set at 3rd with Gordo and at 2nd with Callaspo.  At first, it would seem to be a huge waste of a great arm for either Gordon or Moustakas.  Regardless, we'll find a spot for him if his bat lives up to the potential.

clearly

It was just a matter of time. He is not the first warm weather guy to struggle in the MWL initially. His bat is elite and it’s finally coming around.

The slow start might not get him that late July or August promotion I thought he would end up getting, but that hardly diminishes his prospect.

I think he’ll end up in RF, by the way. Him staying at SS is probably wishful thinking, but maybe…

Some scouts believe Moustakas has catcher material

...but like you, I think RF is a good place to stick Moose if it turns out he can’t handle SS.

I've seen that

Basically revolves around his ridiculous arm. It’s a big risk though, probably not worth risking it with his immense offensive upside…

well...if we cant get Moore/Hillman to play Callaspo at short more than once...

a week, theres no shot in hell that moustakas will stay there from what ive heard about his defense. as far as catcher goes, that normally saps offensive production and we need an elite power hitter in the worst way. id rather have the guy be a DH with 35 HR type power than play catcher with 15-20

TPJ...you're dead to me

Time to Adjust

If the kid continues to hit, I could care less where he plays. I just hope that his future position can be decided soon so that he can have plenty of time in the minors to adjust.

Moustakas won't be in KC for several years so

to consider the players who are currently with the Royals is premature. Gordon and Callaspo might not be here by 2010 – who knows? I would hope they would be but time will tell.

Right now, Moustakas is heating up and showing the production that the scouts thought he had. To his credit, Moustakas had a big jump from high school in CA to Midwest League. He is playing against some guys who are 2-4 years older . Have a feeling that the position will work itself out – if he can’t stay at SS, then there are many options since he was a strong arm. I am pleased to see Jason Taylor and Moustakas playing together for the Bees. They represent the Royals future years from now!
