Game 33 Overflow Thread - Royals A Lot, Angels 4

With Jeff Jered Weaver pouring gasoline on the fire tonight, the Royals are going for their first double digit run output of the year. Hopefully will compensate for the loss we're all feeling because of Justin Huber's current ohfer that he has going for the Pads. Also, the people who are still on our team who own bats are doing well today.

Question: if Zack Greinke were a superhero, who would he be?

EDIT: Darn it, they scored again, didn't they?

Jesus Yabuta is so bad.

Seriously, pull him before he gives up any more runs. Horrific.

Is he live or dead?

has he thoughts within his head?

Yabuta is to major league baseball as Drew Carey is to The Price is Right

Serious question

Is Yabuta a bust? Or do you think he’ll be able to turn it around with more experience?

by mazoboom on May 7, 2008 10:47 PM EDT reply actions

Bust.. no doubt

by focs on May 7, 2008 10:47 PM EDT up reply actions

His control has been very poor for the type of pitcher he is supposed to be

89 MPH fastballs from the right side with no control and a good changeup isn’t going to get it done on the big league level.

by slayor on May 7, 2008 10:49 PM EDT up reply actions

usually if you arent a bust you show signs of being good..

He has shown no signs.. he looks like shit.. he cant get MLB hitters out

by focs on May 7, 2008 10:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Prospects or FA signings are "busts" when they fail

he was good at a lower level (Japan) and was brought up to this level. If he fails, he’s a bust. He just hasn’t pitched well yet.

I probably disagree with you.

by Scott McKinney on May 7, 2008 10:50 PM EDT up reply actions

Just wait and see

Let’s not overreact to meaningless runs and baserunners in garbage time.

I probably disagree with you.

Rodriguez

is a guy the Royals might try for. The Angels really don’t have a spot for him in the majors, long-term, and he might come relatively cheap and BTTPJ (better than…)

Hope is not a strategy. And neither is playing Tony Pena every day. (Rany Jazayerli)

by Matt Klaassen on May 7, 2008 10:52 PM EDT reply actions

How much longer do you wait?

He’s been nothing close to good thus far. You can’t keep him on the roster with a 9 ERA all season. He can’t even eat innings.

by slayor on May 7, 2008 10:53 PM EDT up reply actions

I wouldn't even consider releasing him? Why would anyone?

Because of a bad start? At worst, you send him down to the minors.

I probably disagree with you.

14 ip

I don’t think we know all we need to know about a pitcher after 14 ip.

I feel like I should be qualified to answer this question

but no one comes to mind. Maybe Archangel? Bit of a loner, had his wings destroyed (social anxiety), completely remade by apocalypse (bob mcclure) into a merciless weapon of death?

yeahhhh

I was going to say batman because of his aching desire to hit pre-2006, but it just felt wrong.
