Focusing on a win is just no fun.

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

I dunno, let's give it time, I can usually post 5-6 stupid ones myself in a matter of hours, particularly to make up for typos, etc.

And YOU should just be relieved that “AVILES IN YOUR FACE NYROYAL!!!!!!!!1111” wasn’t one of the tags. You know, since you loathe him so much.

Anyway, I thought it was a fun win. I know the pitcher wasn’t exactly John Lester, but it was nice to see (well, “see” via Gameday) Gordon hit a homer and a key double (I’ll admit that he makes me nervous—I know that it’s impatient and irrational, still, I can’t help it). And, in all seriousness, however it ends up (and it probably ends up on the bench in a utility role), Mike Aviles’ little run is pretty fun.

Too bad Bradley didn’t play. You know, if it was because of his outburst and needing to cool off (I don’t know, I’m just speculating), that really hurt his team, because he’s a great hitter, and easily could have been the different, even if all he did was get one walk (which could have been a domino at any point in the game). But this isn’t about Bradley, but about a well-played Royal loss.

Banny looked good, too, after a terrible start. Is Ramirez maybe getting a bit tired? Rational bullpen usage was nice. I wish German would play 1B sometimes… would be nice to see a Teahen/DDJ/Guillen outfield more often.

Oh yeah, Callaspo hits 2nd and two big hits! I hope that, whenever the Aviles things ends, he’s the everyday SS until the Grudz trade. Then play him at 2B everyday, bring Aviles back at SS, and let German (if he’s still around) be the utitily IF, and (wishing) starting 1B (against lefties, at least) until Butler’s back. That could be a decent hitting team, if Aviles really can OPS above .730 in the majors.

I don’t think that’s wildly optimistic.

OMG Banny. FWIW I am only crdtng u w/3 runs allwd bc of DDJ OMFG

"well-played Royal loss" should be "well-earned Royals win" or something

guess I need to break the habit as much as anyone…

In the last paragraph, "he's the everyday SS until the Grudz trade" refers to Callaspo, not Aviles

See what I mean about my commenting “skill?” It’s a repeable “skill,” just like hitting with RISP!

this aviles kid shows great drafting ability by the front office

30 AB proves he is the superstar that only the royals could find with their advanced player scouting and development program. plus, he is so clutch

its easier to “told you so” with a poor royals team than a “im positive even thru a 12 game losing streak”

good win tho, banny recovered nicely (at the cost of 125 pitches), pen was ok, offense was respectable

Well, there are more losses than wins

so maybe we remember the post-loss conversations better?

Just kidding. Kind of. Believe me, if we ever have a big come from behind win I’ll be sure to talk about how much the other side’s bullpen stinks.

No, we won't

There won’t be a special post-game thread. There won’t be much talk about it at all. That’s how we roll.

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

Let's roll differently next time, then.

I didn't realize it was a day game

Therefore, my analysis of this game is: Since I didn’t watch, we won. You’re all going to ostracize me now. :(

Sarcasmâ„¢. It's the new gravy.

You know, this is actually more stimulating than the BA>OPS discussion

That's OPS>BA you bastard!

This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

I would appreciate even that

I guess this proves Alex Gordon is clutch after all

Bonus for Mahay pitching in a high leverage situation. Yeah!

Winning sucks, there is much less to complain about, boooo!!!

I decided last minute to take the afternoon off and head out to the K, and picked a great game to do it, Close all the way, some runs…but not an embarassment either way, and when Mike Aviles is inducted into the HoF, I will be able to say I was there for his first dinger.

I found this interesting…on the fancy new video board they have room for all kinds of stats when batters come up, they put up OBP, SLG and OPS for all of the statheads, but when the Royals have a runner in scoring position, they put up the batter’s no. of HR, 2B and their SLG% with runners in scoring position.

I confess, I have never wondered THAT, I guess its because its usually

a bigger number than BA w/ RISP so it makes the average fan feel good.
