Offday 7 Open Thread - I've Never Been More Bored In My Entire Life
O Offday, like the moon you are changeable, ever waxing and waning;
hateful life first oppresses and then soothes as fancy takes it,
poverty and power: it melts them like ice.
Offday - monstrous and empty, you whirling wheel,
you are malevolent, well-being is in vain and always fades to nothing,
shadowed and veiled you plague me too;
now through the game I bring my bare back to your villainy.
Offday is against me in health and virtue,
driven on and weighted down, always enslaved.
So at this hour without delay, pluck the vibrating strings;
since Offday strikes down the strong man,
everyone weep with me!

formatting messed up
that was supposed to be a ton of asterisks to emphasize “hate” a lot. Now it just looks stupid.

The "Butler"
BTW - Has anyone had any luck listening to the Omaha Royals through oroyals.com?
Mine seems to load okay, but then media player just plays silence. And no, not the folk song.
Okay, I figured it out....
go to http://1420kotk.townhall.com/ and click on “listen live”
Ditto for "Gameday"
MiLB Gameday is free for audio. It’s turning out to be a heck of a game—Shealy just drove in Maier to retake the lead 7-6 on the fifth lead change.
Sometimes you just gotta roll the potato.

I wish he had better days
He’s been arguably the worst pitcher in the organization this year. Hopefully they’ll move him to the bullpen soon, but he likely has no future whatsoever.
This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

Lumsden
He looked like a great acquisition when GMDM made the deal. He’s given up more walks and struck out fewer batters ever since. I looked up his last ten games and saw no encouraging starts at all. I wonder what his scouting reports were like on draft day when he was a first-round pick.
Compounding
no baseball with no good shows on TV, you have the makings of a crappy boring evening. I have to totally agree with the spirit of this thread.
I love the Office
already hooked. I’ve been using summer break to get into Lost, but I’m only about 12 episodes in. So far it’s interesting.
I got hooked late on the office
because I got hooked late on other great shows such as Deadwood and Rome. Lost I “like.” I can’t really call it love. It’s more like a middle school relationship.
A mind without purpose will walk in dark places.
Lost
...is one of those shows one must see all the way through.
