Isn't their airport
Considered like one of the biggest wastes of taxpayer money in American history? I seem to remember it being way over-budget and completely unnecessary. I love KCI. It is easy to get in an out, security is pretty competent, and it rates high in customer satisfaction. The only problem is the lack of transit to it.
Which brings up another pro-Denver point. They have a model rail system, while we build more highways as gas prices climb higher and higher. And they stole our NHL team – the Kansas City Scouts, which became the Denver Rockies, which failed as well and went to New Jersey to become the Devils.

I think Terry Shumpert could be on that team too
This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

Grrr
Meant to start Shumpert and put Relaford on the bench. I have Desi on the brain.

All Royals-Rockies
Cool. I had forgotten that Sabes pitched there, and I hadn’t realized that Mike Kingery’s career had lasted long enough to have been a Rocky.

Denver vs. KC
I like MCI, too. I think one has to live here (and love one’s car, as you noted) to really like it, though. As far as the negatives of the Denver airport, yes and no. Some have said it was a waste of taxpayer $; however, Stapleton simply had to go. I’m sure it went over-budget, especially when the state-of-the-art luggage system had to be completely re-worked. Lots of big projects go over budget, though, and it doesn’t mean that whatever was built wasn’t needed or worthwhile.
KC absolutely needs a rail system and more alternative energy. It’s too bad we missed out on one or both of those while the feds were offering grants and matching funds. I’m told that our sewer system is the real 1,634 pound gorilla in the room, but all of those (and more) are important issues.
All I really meant to say with the Denver-KC comparisons is that the Royals-Rockies matchup should have some enthusiasm behind it since it’s really all we’ve got. I do love Kansas City, just to be clear. I’m proud to live in the city limits of KC, MO, which is a great place to live with lots of potential to be much better. GMDM seems to have convinced the Glass family to invest more to get more, so go Royals!

It's the Battle for WaKeeney
298 miles from KC, 303 miles from Denver. We must defend—nay, we must recapture all of Western Kansas from the heathen treehuggers. Let them have their Utah and their western Wyoming, but by God the amber waves belong to US!
Sarcasmâ„¢. It's the new gravy.

Is This Not
Worth fighting and dying for?
Sorry, I just love that picture.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.
