All-Star Game Overflow Thread
A Royal has not appeared in an All-Star game since 2005...
I have been told the National League will have to contend with Nathan-Papelbon-Rivera if they want to score (Joe Buck is nothing is not thorough, as I've heard it approximately 25 times). The AL has no other good relievers available. None.
Any volunteers who want to tabulate the contest results after the game?

the predictable has happened
papelbon’s overrated ass allows the go-ahead run….and perhaps the best closer in baseball…the mexicutioner…has not gotten into the game or mentioned by these hacks on fox

Francona is saving Soria
so that he can have somebody throw until his arm falls off if the game goes 17 innings. Because it doesn’t matter if a Royal gets hurt.

I think rivera's coming in this inning...
so soria will be left for the 10th.
by Bart41 on Jul 15, 2008 11:24 PM EDT 0 recs
yeah...you almost have to use rivera in the 9th....otherwise a walk-off in the bottom of the 9th
means Rivera doesn’t pitch at all

AL: Kazmir (not supposed to pitch)
Rivera
Soria
Sherrill
NL: Cook
Dempster
Webb (not supposed to pitch)
Lidge
Marmol
