Did you happen to catch this in the deadspin comments?

This story is obviously from the Onion.

No one blogs on the Royals, and if they tried it wouldn’t be “excellent”, it would be more disturbing than being forced to watch Requiem for a Dream on a loop with your eyes taped open

I seem to recall that Rany was hesitant to use a etnhnic tag… as in the Hispanic Panic craze at the beginning of the season…

Goofy; since when is “Mexican” a perjorative? It’s no more offensive than “American”, which is really a misnomer of sorts.

I also think

that, although it’s far removed and not apparent from the nickname in itself, it is a “tribute” to Buddy Bell’s “Mexican tough” comment…

The subtleties of Royals-watching are lost on the masses.
