They like to forget that the Royals don't exist
I give it a day, though.

the real question we should be asking ourselves
is which RR contributor is the chunky bearded guy keeping score in the stands that gets shown twice?

Bearddude tops some of the other people
I remember the D-Backs/Royals day game (9/4/03) with most of the 20K fans in cheaper than usual lower-deck seats. And I think some guy showed up in a chicken outfit or some sort of animal outfit and was in the right-field GA seats.
On checking BR.. we could have kept ourselves a half-game out if we had won. Lousy DJ Carrasco.

We have to find out
He’s no Courage the Mariners Fan, at least not yet, but it’s a start.
C’Mon, NYRoyal, admit it. The “NY” thing is just a ruse. And you did once claim that “beards are underrated.”
I’m in Canadia, it doesn’t count. And I couldn’t grow a beard in a million years.
Other possibilities:
—NHZ: claims he was on a “date” last night. I mean, what are the odds of that happening. In any case, the game was more depressing than The Dark Night. Who really knows if he lives in New England
—kscoliny. Intense dude. I can totally see it. Royals gear. That sounds like our boy.
—billybutlerformvp: not “exhiled” from Royals games

Don't forget Joel
Cheering on Ross. That guy did look an awful lot like a South Florida baseball player.

He was my first choice
But he would have been in total USF stuff, right?
The best thing about the dude is that he actually has “stereotypical baseball fan all over him.” Probably somewhere between 25-40. Probably played a little ball (jock past his prime). Keeping score. Undoubtedly a bit drunk. Weearing some gear. Getting super excited. Decent “girth.”
We need to rate his “tools.” The enthusiasm for Pena’s at least a 65. Indeed, for every fan video, we should play the “Dayton Game.”
Wait a minute, Retro, YOU have season tickets… Trying to throw me off with Joel, knowing my undying love for jmoney… very clever. You just shot to the top of the list.

remind me, who was the guy with the totally Royal-ed out wedding?
Could that be our mystery man? Of course, I didn’t see a wife there. On the other hand, when you have a totally Royal-ed out wedding, maybe having a wife around becomes less and less probable.
(Of course, I’m just saying all of this out of envy.)

is it bad that I fully plan on
royal-ing out my own wedding? Not to like, the extreme of wearing a powder blue dress or anything, but…

How dare you sir
I don’t approve of your gotcha blog journalism.
Actually, my wife would love for me to grow a full beard, but I just don’t like the Grizzly Adams look.
This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

We are all dancing around the issue
Should Pena be throwing some side sessions to see if this was a total fluke.
Who cares about RBI's, how many HDB's you got?

Its definitely enough to make you wonder…

He did hit a homer this season
And that seems much, much, less likely than the possibility of him being worthwhile mop-up man/25th man/utility infielder. He might almost be useful then.

i didn't read that
TPJ made such a good defensive play for the first out. though i hate to say it, it was kind of impressive, actually

My favorite part
...is still when Ryan starts talking about making sure Pena doesn’t hurt himself.
Yeah, God forbid if we have to call up someone like Maier or Costa who can hit.
by sconieroyal on Jul 22, 2008 4:35 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I laughed too.
:)
“Wait…what’s the downside on him hurting himself?”
by Nyghtewynd on Jul 22, 2008 4:37 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Hmmm...
If it keeps him from…y’know…hitting….I’m all for it. He couldn’t be any worse than Gobble was.
by Nyghtewynd on Jul 22, 2008 4:37 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
We should at least consider
Going back down to 11 pitchers, bringing up a hitter, and having Pena work on his pitching to appear in blowouts.

Of course, it might still be more helpful to the Royals
To have Gobble work on his hitting

Roster move time
Peralta is back up from Omaha
Gobble is on the DL with a back strain (presumably from being left out to throw 45 pitches last night)
by BHWick on Jul 22, 2008 5:17 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Sure its not a neck strain
From having to watch all those hits off him?
