Game 107 Open Thread - Royals (47-59) at A's (53-51)

Kansas City Royals at Oakland Athletics, Jul 28, 2008 10:05 PM EDT

It was those damn A's who sent the Royals below .500 for good back in April...

Your pitching matchup is Greinke (4.06 ERA) versus Braden (4.05 ERA). Umm... sorta awkward that some generic A has a better ERA than our beloved once and future stud Greinke. (I know, I know...)

Hopefully that won't be the case in about two hours.

Is Moose Tacos COMING ALIVE !!!

Another HR tonight 2-3 another BB. Moose seems to have taken control of the single A strikezone and is starting to punish pitchers again. 7-15 with 3 HR’s 4 BB’s 3 K’s 5 Rbi’s the last 3 games. That brings his Post A All Star numbers up to .961 OPS. Pretty solid for the 19 year old

I like that Grienke is using his fastball outside and INSIDE tonight. He’s also not afraid to bring it. I think he’s been holding back just a little. Remember when he went to the pen and was suddenly in the upper 90s? Then he went back to the rotation and was lights out with the same stuff…. this year he hasn’t really had that as much. He’s been afraid to let it go… you have to let it go to get all that movement and velocity.. he’s doing a much better job tonight.
