I have never been a fan
of Ken Rosenthal's musings but his last one gave me such a laugh that I had to post a snipet from it.
"The Dodgers' addition of third baseman Casey Blake reduced their need for offense at shortstop. Nomar Garciaparra could be headed to the disabled list with a sprained ligament in his left knee, but Angel Berroa offers solid defense, if not much offense."
Solid defense from Bullrroa? What a laugh? The Dodgers must not have any warm bodies in their system that can out perform our Angel. Kenny, I think you need to readjust your rose colored glasses and take a second look at the SS for LAD.
LOL..............

Rosenthal is probably just thinking
“Well there has to be SOME reason the Royals played him all those years, and it wasn’t his bat.”

Wasn't it the bat?
Or at least the rumor of how his bat was his rookie year? It was never the fielding…

For the love of God
play Chin Ling Hu and save LA fans the trouble of watching Berroa try to learn how to play baseball. Hu will provide better defense and a better offensive line, and at least he will be learning something. The Dodgers are a weird team. They have one of the deepest farm systems in baseball and refuse to trust their talent. It makes no sense.

yet another reason why the Royals should trade for Hu and shift Aviles to 2b
(in addition to the fact that Hu’s stock has dropped this year, so the Dodgers will be in a bit of a sell-low position with him)

Here's hoping
His defense would sure help the infield and he’d be a solid bat. What would it take to get him though?

SS around baseball
I think this just shows that the SS of the future mold is transitioning again to defense. The power is going back to the corners. You can thank ARod for that with his move to 3B.
Don't forget to send your broken maples to the US Forest Service.

I was thinking about a bit
I still think that things are unlikely to get back to the 70s and 80s as far as SS offense goes, but the A-Rod/ Nomar/Jeter/Tejadad era does seem like a bit on an anomaly now.
OMG Banny. FWIW I am only crdtng u w/3 runs allwd bc of DDJ OMFG
