Guillen Fighting Mad at McClure
Looks like NYRoyal's assessment of Guillen is spot on. A bit of a jerk that bats in runs.

If only somehow
We would have known he had personality issues before we signed him.

He's just not used to being on a "rebuilding" team
after stints in Seattle, Washington, Tampa Bay, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Arizona… Did I miss any?

That's too bad
sounds like he is gonna baby his way off of this team by throwing fits.

it looks like Guillen overreacted
but I’m inclined to side with him, absent of any other evidence.
Is there really any reason for McClure to be “coaching” Guillen? Unless Jose steps on the mound, I’d say there’s no need for McClure to be all up in his… business.

Agreed
Why is McClure confronting him? It sounds like McClure went out of his way to start a confrontation.
Perhaps Manny should be kicked off the Red Sox? First his run-in with Youkilis, then him shoving the team’s secretary?

+1
McClure has no business telling him to do anything, especially when it involves being upset about losing. It’s funny how Guillen is upset at losing for 1/2 a season, when we have many players that have been losing for years and it appears they could care less.

If the coaching staff
isn’t there to smooth over clubhouse issues…then I’m confused.

You might be reading too much into it.
It says McClure was sitting on the other side of the lockerroom. He could’ve been defending one of his fellow coaches or something. I would have to side with McClure given Guillen’s past.

Split was especially harsh on Guillen last night on the post-game show
he said that this is more common that is being reported and that Guillen is also not undergoing treatment by trainers for his injuries. An inside source told him this. He predicts future problems.

Splitt said it had to do with the music in the clubhouse...
today on the pre-game show. He intimated that if Trey’s not going to stand up to Guillen and do anything, then he’s not standing up for his coaches. And if he doesn’t stand up for his coaches, said coaches may not want to stick around.

I'm not sure about the Guillen incident
but your handle rocks. Even if I have no clue what the joke is.

Pathetic
Guillen’s hitting like .270 with 13 HRs at the All Star Break, but such numbers are so incredible for a Royal that the organization is afraid to tell him to shut up.
Someone should remind Guillen that he signed up to play for this team.

I think we should trade him.
Although his salary is a bit high, I think that we could still trade him. His bat has been an attribute, and I think that someone in the playoff picture would be willing to take his bat and his salary with it. Even though just a week ago, we were behind 7 games and I thought we could make the playoffs, now I think this season is done. We would not be able to get much in return for him, but I do think a six pack of Coors Original and taking his salary would be a good deal. We could use his salary for next offseason.
Also, on a related note; if we got rid of this cancer, I think we should sign Bonds. It would give us a roster spot. We could possibly get a extra draft pick in the offseason if Bonds had a decent second half. Bonds could not possibly have a much smaller range than Guillen, and his bat could be just as good. Let Glass save about 5.8 million this year by my trade and sign, and then use it all on young talent to lock up Greinke, Gordo, and Billy Boy.
I would have rather throw away this 6 million dollar second half of the season on some unproven 16 year old dominican than our 30 year old one.
Possible suitors: Brewers, Cardinals, Dodgers, Diamondbacks, and my favorite fit, the Yankees. Dayton Moore, Make it happen.

Getting rid of Guillen and picking up Bonds
Isn’t that like getting done with chemotherapy and taking up smoking?

Therer is no way...
We can trade him @ this point. Too expensive, too much of a track record of bad antics. Plus, look at the last time he was on a good team. He was left off the Post Season roster b/c he almost killed his Manager when he was w/ the Angels.

Inevitable
You just knew that this crap was part of the package with Guillen. The Royals can’t be surprised.

My favorite Guillen quote
“I don’t got truly no respect for [Scioscia] anymore because I’m still hurt from what happened last year . . . Mike Scioscia, to me, is like a piece of garbage . . . He can go to hell . . . I can never get over about what happened last year. It’s something I’m never going to forget. Any time I play that team, Mike Scioscia’s managing, it’s always going to be personal to me.”
